Science/Technical Scholarships

Microsoft Scholarship Program

A Microsoft scholarship provides a leg up to students pursuing undergraduate studies in computer science and related technical disciplines. Students join a community of scholarship recipients from the United States, Canada and Mexico who share your passion for technology and academic excellence. It all adds up to achieving a primary goal—making a real difference in the software industry. Microsoft is offering four different types of technical scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year to current undergraduate students: General Scholarships, Women's Scholarships, Minority Scholarships, and Scholarships for Students with Disabilities.

Real World Design Challenge

The Real World Design Challenge (RWDC) is an annual competition that provides high school students, grades 9-12, the opportunity to work on real world engineering challenges in a team environment. Each year, student teams will be asked to address a challenge that confronts our nation's leading industries. Students will utilize professional engineering software to develop their solutions and will also generate presentations that convincingly demonstrate the value of their solutions. The RWDC provides students with opportunities to apply the lessons of the classroom to the technical problems that are being faced in the workplace.

Saul T. Wilson Scholarships

USDA's student opportunities are designed to combine academic studies with on-the-job training and experience and to give students an opportunity to work with USDA while completing their education. USDA provides undergraduate and graduate students with paid opportunities to serve as assistants to scientific, professional, administrative, and technical employees.  Each USDA Mission Area or Agency manages its own programs.

Student Inventors Scholarships

Introduced in 1990, the Collegiate Inventors Competition has recognized, rewarded, and encouraged hundreds of students to share their inventive ideas with the world. The Competition promotes exploration in invention, science, engineering, technology, and other creative endeavors and provides a window on the technologies from which society will benefit in the future.

Xerox Scholarships for Students

Xerox is committed to the academic success of all minority students; they offer a Technical Minority Scholarship that awards between $1,000 and $10,000 to qualified minorities enrolled in a technical degree program at the bachelor level or above.
